Yes, we accept paypal as a method of payment. In fact, paypal is our sole payment method because research shows it is the payment method that people feel most comfortable using online. It is safe and secure for everyone.
The system has been built from the ground up with user simplicity and the HCPC CPD standards in mind. You can directly select which HCPC CPD standards each piece of work you record meets - all work must be your own and no-one can complete your CPD for you. In addition to this our system allows you to catalogue your CPD in categories and subcategories that are recommended by the HCPC in their own documentation. We are not affiliated with the HCPC but they state, "You can keep a record of your activities in whatever way is most convenient for you, this may be computerised. We would like to encourage you to complete the profile and list of evidence electronically, as this will help the assessors to read the information that you submit.".
They go on to say that if you are selected for audit, "The simplest way to prove that you have kept a record of your CPD is to send us, as part of your evidence, a summary of all of your CPD activities. This could be in any format you choose, but we suggest that it might be a simple table which includes the date and ‘type’ of each activity". Our system will allow you to select and compile such a list of your own work in less than 10 seconds.
We feel that the service is very competitively priced and our main aim through this service is to help you with your CPD/career, not to make obscene amounts of money. We know how daunting the thought of audit can be. Hopefully our system will make this process very straight forward for you.
Is the system suitable for all HCPC staff groups?
Absolutely. As the system directly addresses the HCPC CPD standards and uses categories actually suggested by the HCPC themselves, it is suitable whatever your profession. See below:
I am a manager, can I purchase multiple user accounts for my staff?
You can, although you can’t do this automatically via the website. Please use the ‘contact us’ option to send us your requirements. Even if you purchase accounts for your staff using your departments budget, you still won't be able to see your staff's records. Their individual records are completely confidential to them, this is deliberate and something we will not change.
What do I need to do when my membership is due for renewal?
When your membership is due for renewal, you will be alerted 14 days prior to this date via the email address you used when you signed up. You will simply be able to login and pay for your next years subscription. To do this, login to the homepage and then click on your username where it says 'Welcome'. You will then be taken to another page where it says 'click here to extend/renew your membership'. You can see when your membership is due for renewal at any point by visiting http://www.cpd-online.com/user whilst logged in.
What if I am late in renewing my membership?
Don’t worry, we won’t delete your data! However you won’t be able to access it again until you renew your membership. If you don’t want to renew your membership that is fine, we can send you an excel file of your data upon request but this may be chargeable as we have to do this manually. We will normally clear out data associated with expired accounts after 1 year from your expiration date. This gives you ample time to either renew or export your data, it is only fair to paying members for the database to work at optimum speeds unhindered by expired data.
How secure is the data I enter?
Your data is as secure with us as it is with any other online system in the world. The system is programmed using the latest server side languages and structured database queries. We will not divulge your information to anyone unless required to do so by law.
What happens if your servers crash?
Our servers have 99.9% guaranteed uptime. We also have automated backup routines in place meaning that your data is backed up on different physical drives in a highly available cluster….. if one breaks beyond repair, we can retrieve and restore your data from one of the others. As an extra layer of protection and piece of mind for you, you can export your data at anytime into MS Excel or MS Word and save a local copy to your own harddrive but this is not necessary - we have been operating for over 6 years now and have seen 0% data loss.
How do I submit a support ticket?
We have worked hard to make the system as easy to use as possible and it is very straight forward. However if you are still having problems, please use the ‘contact us’ link in the navigation menu of the main website to submit a support request.
I can't get it to work with my mobile?
The system works perfectly on the vast majority of modern mobile phones, tablets, PCs and Macs produced from 2012 onwards. As we are sure you can appreciate, we can not test the system on all smart phones and devices due to the myriad of models on the market - we simply don't have access to them all!
What are the minimum PC and browser requirements?
More or less any modern PC or 'semi-modern' PC will run the system without any problems whatsoever. Chromem Firefox, Safari, Opera, Edge & Internet Explorer are supported as browsers. We recommend Internet Explorer 9.0 or greater with javascript enabled and with a screen resolution of 1024x768 or greater. The chances are you are already running these minimum requirements if your machine was made in this millenium. Internet Explorer 8 and below are now over 10 years old. We hope your setup is not going to be over 10 years old even if you work for the NHS!
