CPD Ideas For A Paramedic
Our CPD system is perfect for Paramedics as it is available 24 hours per day from any internet connected device. If you are a paramedic, there are many things that you can record for your CPD including mentoring junior paramedic staff, discussions with colleagues, secondments and conference attendance.
It is likely that you are undertaking continuing professional development on a daily or weekly basis but don't necessarily realise that you are doing so or simply don't record it. Having said this though, it is important that as a paramedic, as with all HCPC staff groups, that there is a clear distinction between the undertaking of paramedic CPD activities from those that are routine in your daily role. To clarify, your learning activites should seek to benefit and expand your knowledge with the overall aim of improving the service that you offer to patients. An example of this might be that whilst attending a conference, the topic matter inspired you to discuss with your peers during the break what you are doing within your daily role. This would allow you to see how your service measures up to that of your peers around the country and can therefore influence and improve the way you and your colleagues undertake certain things in your daily role back at the station. In other words, it is not necessarily what you are doing in your daily role but the way you are seeking to critically appraise it with an aim of improving your knowledge and service.
From dialogue with our members who are paramedics, they particularly like the simplicity of our system and also like the way it is cross-platform compatible meaning that they can log in at work on a PC and record a new activity and then perhaps add their reflective statement later that evening on their iPad from home. One of the other key benefits that is appreciated seems to be the ability to upload evidence in the form of attachments. So if you had read an article in a trauma journal and taken notes, not only could you record your notes on our system as CPD, but also upload the article as a PDF file depending on copyright restrictions.
If you are a paramedic and are looking for a simple way to record your continuing professional development online, then why not sign-up to our system today?

"From the point of view of an Occupational Therapist, the system is spot on. I particularly like the simplicity and the annual price really is incredible for unlimited access. Especially when compared to other sites who want the same amount every month!" - Alison Jones, Occupational Therapist |
